WHAT IS IASTM?
(also commonly referred to as Graston or FAKTR)
Instrument Assisted Soft Tissue Mobilization (IASTM) is a non-invasive soft tissue technique that uses specially designed, surgical grade stainless steel instruments to help your chiropractor at 417 Performance identify and treat areas of the body with soft tissue adhesions.
These adhesions can be found in the muscles and connective tissues throughout the body.
SOFT TISSUE ADHESIONS ARE ASSOCIATED WITH CONDITIONS LIKE:
- Upper Cross Syndrome
- Plantar Fasciitis
- Muscle Strains
IASTM allows your doctor to get as deep into the tissue as necessary to change the tone of the tissues, yet be sensitive to your pain and tolerance. As the instruments are moved over the affected area and scrape against the soft tissue, this action will help restore the tissue’s ability to slide over each other for more normal movement.
IASTM TREATMENT CAN HELP PATIENTS IN SPRINGFIELD:
- Improve range of motion
- Remove adhesions between layers of the tissues
- Decrease pain
