Still Limping After Months of 'Just Rest It'?

Plantar fasciitis doesn't get better by sitting on the sidelines. If you've tried ice, orthotics, or a round of adjustments with nothing to show for it, the problem isn't your effort — it's the approach.

The Stretch-and-Rest Trap

Generic calf stretches and night splints quiet symptoms temporarily — but they never address why the tissue keeps breaking down. Without loading the fascia progressively, you're stuck in a cycle of flare-ups every time you ramp back up.

Cortisone Only Masks the Pain

Injections can reduce inflammation in the short term, but repeated cortisone weakens tissue integrity and does nothing to correct the movement dysfunction driving the problem. Many patients return within months — hurting again.

Activity Shouldn't Be the Enemy

Being told to stop running, lifting, or playing your sport isn't a treatment plan — it's a delay. Every week of forced rest is a week of lost fitness, lost momentum, and lost confidence. You deserve a path forward, not a pause button.

Why Springfield Chooses 417 Performance for Heel Pain

We built 417 Performance for the active adult who refuses to be told to 'wait it out.' Every visit is a full 60-minute, one-on-one session with the same doctor — no aides, no double-booking, no rushed adjustments. We start with a movement-based assessment to understand the root cause of your plantar fasciitis, then combine hands-on care with progressive corrective exercise so the results actually stick. Our goal is to make you self-sufficient, not dependent on us.

  • Shockwave therapy (ESWT) + dry needling targeting the actual tissue breakdown — not just the symptoms
  • Structured 3-phase care model: Pain Relief → Building Resilience → Return to Performance

A Clear Path From Heel Pain to Full Performance

Step 1: Find the Root Cause

Your first visit is a full 60-minute movement-based assessment — not a quick once-over. We test your range of motion, strength, foot mechanics, and movement patterns to identify exactly why your plantar fascia keeps breaking down. You'll leave with answers, not guesses.

Step 2: Rebuild the Tissue

We combine hands-on care — shockwave therapy (ESWT), dry needling, IASTM, and manual therapy — with targeted corrective exercise to reduce pain fast and begin repairing the underlying tissue. Every treatment is personalized and progressed based on how your body responds.

Step 3: Return to Your Sport

Pain relief is only the beginning. We use progressive loading, sport-specific exercise, and return-to-performance protocols to make sure your fascia is strong enough to handle the demands of running, lifting, or whatever activity brought you in — so you stay off the bench for good.

Plantar Fasciitis & Foot Pain We Treat in Springfield

Plantar fasciitis is our specialty, but chronic heel pain rarely travels alone. We also treat the connected conditions that fuel it — or that show up when you compensate around the pain. • Achilles Tendinopathy — chronic stiffness and pain at the back of the heel that worsens with running and jumping

  • Shin Splints, Runner's Knee & IT Band Syndrome — overuse injuries driven by poor load management and movement dysfunction

Plantar Fasciitis FAQs

Answers to the questions Springfield patients ask us most before their first visit.

We combine multiple evidence-based modalities — shockwave therapy (ESWT), dry needling, IASTM/Graston, manual therapy, and progressive corrective exercise — in a single 60-minute, one-on-one session. Most clinics offer one or two of these tools. We use all of them together in a structured three-phase plan: Pain Relief, Building Resilience, and Return to Performance. You'll also work with the same doctor every visit — no aides, no handoffs.

No. Missouri allows direct access to chiropractic care, so you can book directly without a physician referral. You can also start with a free 15-minute Discovery Call to discuss your history and goals before committing to a full appointment.

Extracorporeal shockwave therapy uses high-energy acoustic waves to stimulate healing in the chronic, degenerated tissue of the plantar fascia. It promotes new blood vessel growth, breaks down calcifications, and triggers the body's natural repair process — often delivering significant relief in 3–5 sessions for patients who haven't responded to stretching, orthotics, or injections.

417 Performance is a self-pay clinic with transparent, all-inclusive flat-rate pricing — no per-technique upcharges, no surprise bills. We accept HSA and FSA cards, offer payment plan options, and provide superbills for patients who want to seek out-of-network reimbursement from their insurance provider. Call us or book a Discovery Call for current pricing.

Recovery timelines vary depending on how long you've had the condition, your activity level, and how consistently you complete your home exercise program. Many patients feel meaningful improvement within the first 2–3 visits. Our goal is always to get you moving confidently as quickly as possible — and to give you the tools to manage your body independently when care ends.

Yes — in fact, most of the patients we see have already been through that cycle. Orthotics and stretching address symptoms, not root causes. Cortisone can reduce short-term inflammation but doesn't repair tissue or correct movement dysfunction. Our movement-based assessment identifies the biomechanical factors driving your plantar fascia breakdown, which is often the missing piece.
